First 5k
Today I ran in my first race ever! It was Bear Lake's Raspberry Day's 5k. I ran it with my sister in-law Rebekah, and my friend Heidi and her husband Craig and their brother in-law Eric. They all beat me, but I was happy about my time and progress that I've made. My baby is only 4 months old, I still have 15 lbs of baby weight on me, and I am NOT a natural born runner (I guess that means I just have very limited running experience), but I set 2 goals and I made them both! 1-run the entire 3.1 miles without stopping, and 2-run it in under 30.00 minutes. I ran the entire trail, and I came in at 29.55!!! Thanks to Heidi for running along side of me at the end and cheering me on, or I don't think I would have made it in time! I felt really good after the race, and I hope to run this same race next year and beat my time! I hope to continue to keep on running, and I might even sign up for a 10k this November. Running isn't easy, but I'm learning.

I am so impressed!! Good job - that's so awesome!
I'm still working my way up to your level :)
Yaaaaaay for you Heidi!!! I've always wanted to train for one of those..I'm just not sure when I'd find the time and also, I think I'd die of a heart attack....:-) Anyhoo, I'm so proud of ya!!
You should be so proud Heidi! To break 30:00 and not walk at all in your FIRST race with a new little baby is SOOO GREAT!!! I hope you had a great time and you so have to sign up for another race this year. Way to go!
Hooray!!! Way to go, speedracer : ). My first 5k was over 36 minutes...
Hey, email me about Saturday. We need to iron those details out ASAP.
My hat's off to you Heidi! I'm so proud of you. I need to start that running stuff. I haven't even had a baby, and I still need to lose the 15 I've put on since my wedding. You're amazing!
Much love!
Wow! You can tell how good of a visiting teacher I am if I didn't even know you were working to run that. So this is my first peek at your blog and I love the family pictures and I am wondering why you are going to New Zealand? That's where my hunny went on his mission!
