I love America

It is a brutal election year, our country is facing an economic crisis, and it seems as though many of us are forgetting what an amazing country we live in. Times are tough, but there is still so much that is right with our country. Much of the bad has been thrown at all of us, and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sick of it. (Mostly sick of the presidential candidates bickering and telling each other how the other one is a liar. Oh, who to believe?!?!) I came across this great quote by Pres. Harold B. Lee and I knew I wanted it on my blog. Thank you Robert, from BabyCenter!!!!

“We are living in a time of great crisis. The country is torn with scandal and with criticism, with faultfinding and condemnation. It is an easy thing to climb on the bandwagon and join the hotheads in condemnation, little realizing that when they do, they are not just tearing down a man, they are tearing down a nation, and they are striking at the underpinnings of one of the greatest of all nations of the world – a nation that was founded upon an inspired declaration we call the Constitution of the United States. The lord said it was written by men whom he raised up for that very purpose, and that Constitution stands today as a model to all nations to pattern their lives.”

I have the right to vote!
I can go to the grocery store where there is plenty of food and then some!
I can walk or drive down my street and I don't have to worry about being shot at or harmed in any way.
America is beautiful!
I have the right to practice my religion.
I have the opportunity to get an education.
There are many men and women who are fighting for us so we can maintain these freedoms.
The "American Dream" is still alive!!!
