in my garage!! A black widow!!!!! I know they are pretty common in this area, but they are not very fun to find in your own home, especially with young children and a baby. This isn't the actual spider (obviously) but I did capture the thing in a jar for James to see when he came home from school. After I did that, I immediately called the exterminator to come spray our house for spiders. Luckily they came that afternoon! We still have the little devil in a jar in our kitchen. It's either going to suffocate or starve to death one of these days. It still gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it. Ugh.....I hate spiders!!!

Ew! I'm with ya! I hate spiders, too!
Yuck, Heidi! We're dying over here, though... We live in the middle of a wheat field (black widow's are field spiders) so we see these mommas all the time. Especially when the weather changes... like now. NO FUN! The kids definitely know what to look for, though.
I love that you used the word heebie jeebies! I would have had to get my house sprayed also!
Well that is just totally freaky (I DO hate spiders!) I can't believe you kept it in a jar in your house--you must be one good mommy to let your boys enjoy it!! We just get several black crickets creeping into our house in the fall. Way less scary but very loud :)
