Longest day of the year!

June 21st is the longest day of the year! Meaning, is stays lighter longer than any other day of the year (just as December 21st is the shortest day of the year). Mark's family likes to celebrate this day (which is something I never did seeing as my birthday was just the day after). When Mark was growing up, his ward always had a big party that his brothers still talk about to this day. Oh, and I can't forget the "awesome chicken" that they served at this party. Yesterday we celebrated with Mark's family at his sister's house and had a pool party! It was a blast! We were missing Mark's parents who are on a mission, but they called and talked to each one of there kids! And yes, Mark and his brothers discussed the chicken that was served years ago at their old ward's "longest day of the year" party!! I bet one of these years they are going to try to re-create that chicken.

All the kids had a great time swimming, that is, everyone but our kids. It wasn't until the end until James and Andrew would actually get in the pool and sit on the steps. I don't know what I am going to do with them. Swimming lessons is going to be interesting this year. Unfortunately, James has regressed so much that it will be like starting over. However, this means that he and Andrew will be in the same class. I haven't decided yet whether this is a good idea or not. Only time will tell. I know that one day they are going to love to play in a swimming pool, but today is not that day. It is frustrating for Mark and I to have...(how do I say this nicely).....such wimpy children!!!! Oh well, here are some pictures of our party we had. Note the picture of Kade (the little boy with the HUGE bottom lip). The poor guy got stung by a bee.
