Getting ready for the trek west to Newport. Here I am loading up in St. George. It's the half way point and such a great way to break up the long drive.
The kids loved the beach.

Heidi and Chloe. This little girl was such a good sport. She was a little confused and grumpy at times (that's what happens when naps are cut in half), but overall she did very well.
A sand creature. These were very exciting for Andrew.
The infamous toenail. My poor sister, Melissa, had her big toenail ripped off her toe towards the beginning of our vacation (in a door). It was very painful and inconvenient at the theme parks and the beach, but she was a trouper.
The view from the beach house.
The Newport Temple
At the temple
If they weren't at the beach, or a theme park, these two had their noses in their 3DS's.
We only lost Caleb once and for a short time (I'm glad I wasn't there to freak out). He got separated from our group and was wandering around. Luckily we found him quickly and it scared him enough not to get lost again.

Playing in the ocean with soon-to-be Uncle Kevin.
We also spent three days at some theme parks, but we didn't bring our camera. I did take some pictures on my phone, and I'll hopefully have some time soon to upload them. Some of the other highlights were eating at Mrs. Knott's Chicken dinner, Knott's Berry Farm, two days at Disneyland, and just hanging out at the beach house with my entire family. Even Mark, Kathryn, and Ila made the airplane trip across the country to join us. It was a very fun time for all!
