Yeah, I pretty much freaked out. So as you can see Caleb had an allergic reaction yesterday. After my moment of panic (once I realized his airway was not constricted) I gave him some allergy medicine and then took him to see the doctor. I was then referred to an allergist and we have an appointment to get him a skin test. I was wondering if I was a little too hasty in getting him in to see an allergist so quickly when I wasn't even sure what made him have the reaction (I'm guessing peanuts, but I'm not sure), but this morning, he woke up like this-
Full blown hives all over his body and still some swelling in his lips and a little in the eyes. Hopefully he is on the mend now. I had to take this picture (he's saying "cheese")
because with a little Benadryl in him, he is back to normal. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't have too serious of an allergy (well, it's obvious it is fairly serious), but I know some allergies can be life threatening so we are hoping to find out what he is allergic to so we know what to avoid. So in the mean time, I am avoiding a lot of foods just to be on the safe side, and I have to keep checking him when he sleeps because I'm afraid he's going to balloon up again.

oh no!! i think you were justified to freak out over that! poor caleb. I hope you figure out what it is, soon!!
good luck! My Jensen was getting hives and we tried all the different foods and then took him to an allergist. Turns out he's allergic to ALL grass and weeds. He has to take allergy medicine twice a day and use special soap and lotion. And guess what we found out.. fresh herbs are considered weeds...wish we had known that before he had a major reaction and had to go to the ER.
Well, he's not allergic to anything we was tested for. The allergist said it was most likely viral or infectious. Hmmmm. We're still keeping an eye on him. Crazy.
