A half Marathon and a soccer game

I did it! I did something I honestly never thought I would do. I ran the Ogden 1/2 marathon and liked it! :) My knees are very sore, I walk with a limp, and I have blisters on my feet in strange places, but I did it! 13.1 miles in less than 2 hours. One hour and 53 minutes (45th out 205 for my age group). Not too shabby. I was pretty happy with my time. I ran the 1/2 all by my lonesome (although I made some friends on the bus), but I knew 5 people running the full. 3 had qualifing times for the Boston Marathon and 2 of the ladies are on my same team for the Wasatch Back relay coming up next month. That's going to be a blast!!

Probably my favorite part of the race was having my 4 boys cheering for me as I crossed the finish line. We then had to hurry home to James' last soccer game of the season. He did really well this year. He scored 1 goal and it happened to be the time when Mark was his substitute coach. Many of the kids from our neighborhood were on his team. He is a good little player. He's especially good at defense and stopped the other teams from scoring many goals. T-ball starts up next month for both James and Andrew with Mark and I as their coaches. It should be fun.

I just had to include this cute pic of Caleb. He's just so cute I can't stand it. He's also getting so big. He's not a baby anymore. :(

Ooooh, Caleb is a doll! So are you! So fun to see you this morning, and I sure wish we could have had more time to chat. We'll have plenty of time in the van during the WB, though. You did an absolutely fantastic job today, and you should feel very proud of yourself.

Aw, love the pics Heidi! I am so impressed with your time, way to go!!! I wish we could've run with you or met up at the end, but you're such a good mom to go to your little guy's soccer game. So, what's next on your plate besides Wasatch Back?

wahoo! It was so nice to meet you for a sec before hopping on the buses. Very respectable finish time I say. You earned it! Congrats.

Congrats Heidi!! You make it sound so easy :) And I love that you just hopped on over to soccer right after--you are a busy mom!

Your boys are adorable!

You're an inspiration! I'm trying to become a runner and am really not enjoying it right now. I think I need to sign up for a race to give me something to work for. Way to go!
