The most popular baby names of 2008

The top 100 baby names of 2008 are now available on parents.com. If you look at numbers 7,8, & 9 for the boys, you will find all 3 of my boys names. Crazy. I don't know whether to say "oh shoot, my kids have popular names," or "cool, my kids have popular names."

Looking at the list I'd say it's a nice balance of traditional mixed with trendy.

I would be thinking, "Oh shoot, my children are doomed to future confusion."
I hate having a popular name for my age group.

When we chose Ethan, I'd only ever heard of one other Ethan. That year it skyrocketed from number 40 something to nearly the top where it has stayed ever since. Katie is also very popular - I just liked it too much so I gave in.

I've got number 8 and number 12. Weird...when I named Caleb 7 years ago I don't think it was on any lists. I saw it while flipping through the Bible Dictionary looking for name ideas and decided I really liked it. Then I chose Joshua because it goes along with Caleb in the Bible. I guess we both just have good taste.
